two new neighborhood centers in Montaudran
In the Montaudran sector, south-east of Toulouse, two new neighborhood centers have been redesigned and redeveloped at Place de l’Aéropostale and Place Marcel Bouilloux-Lafont.
“They now offer peaceful, friendly and lively spaces to all”, presents the Toulouse town hall. On Saturday 23 October, two new neighborhood centers were inaugurated in Montaudran. Improvements have been made to Place de l’Aéropostale and Place Marcel Bouilloux-Laffont. They include: green spaces at the foot of buildings, new cycle paths and sidewalks. Security has also been reinforced with the installation of six surveillance cameras.
Games and green spaces Place de l’Aéropostale
Place de l’Aéropostale is located to the north of the old “Giants” airstrip, 1.8 kilometers long, recognized in part as a “Historic Monument”. Soon, six luminous totems will be installed along this track to highlight six stopover cities of the Aéropostale. Each of these installations will be the support of a story on the history of the site and the associated city.
Overlooked by buildings, a children’s play area has been installed. Inside, they can have fun piloting a custom-made reconstruction of the plane. Breguet XIV, which was notably used during World War I as a bomber. All around, a hundred trees have been planted to vegetate the heart of the neighborhood.
New shops at Place Marcel Bouilloux-Laffont
Not far from that of the Aéropostale, the place Marcel Bouilloux-Laffont is in the immediate vicinity of the Halle de La Machine. “Like the Place du Capitole, this square perfectly sums up the spirit of a neighborhood where it is good to live and work. It is a place of meetings and leisure, where everything is nearby ”, welcomes the town hall of Toulouse. Nearly 800 housing units have been built there, as well as seven new restaurants (ADN Aventures de Nomades, Bistrot Régent, Di Capo, London Corner, Matissaé le Chou Français, and, Pitaya, Vinum), a hairdresser and a UGC cinema made up of seven screening rooms.
