Toulouse: to escape the police after an assault, he jumps into the void and ends up … in the hospital
Suspected of having attacked a man on the banks of the Garonne in Toulouse on Saturday evening, an individual jumped more than 10 meters to escape the police. His escape ended in the hospital.
The assault occurred on the banks of the Garonne, Saturday evening in Toulouse around 9.45 p.m. The municipal police were put on alert when a 38-year-old man was injured, hit by a stab in the shoulder. Agents patrolling the Tounis wharf area presented themselves and the conscious man indicated his attacker’s direction of flight.
The municipal officers then took his direction, first noting that the individual was trying to flee. The latter ran a little and, no doubt believing that the police were getting too close, he climbed over the low wall overlooking the banks of the Garonne. And there, at the height of the Pont Neuf, he jumped into the void! A fall of more than 10 meters and an arrival on the quays, very poorly controlled.
Victim of trauma to the lower limbs, and fracture, the 29-year-old fugitive could not go further. The municipal police went around and alerted the firefighters. The man was evacuated to the emergency room of the Purpan hospital where his state of health would be stabilized after an operation.
The victim of the stabbing was also taken care of by the emergency services and admitted to the emergency room. His wound was deep. This man was able to leave the hospital after receiving treatment.
The Right Bank urban security unit was tasked with understanding the origin of the attack. An origin described as “nebulous” a source close to the file. “A prior confusion”, continues this person but hearings of the two people manage to clarify. They must be heard during the week. The alleged perpetrator of the assault, recorded by video cameras, when he will have his injuries surveillance and his operation, the victim when his injury will cause him less pain.
