Toulouse: more hot water for the students of the Chapou residence, the Crous promises work on Wednesday
The students who live in the Chapou residence, in Toulouse (Amidonniers district), have had almost no domestic hot water for a month. The Crous Occitanie, which manages the residence, promises work for this Wednesday, October 27.
For the more than 200 accommodation units in the university residence located at 1 rue Saunière, in the Amidonniers district in Toulouse, there is clearly not enough hot water. For over a month, students have had to wash “almost in cold water”. Adrian, a foreign language student at Jean Jaurès University, and a tenant on the 5th floor of a building in the residence, has no one to solve his problem. The services of CROUS, the regional center for university and school works, were unable to resolve the problem.
“With other students, we went several times to ask for explanations at the entrance to the building where there is a Crous office, but each time, we were told that they do not know and that they do not. can do nothing. This has been going on for over three weeks ”. The problem is not the lack of hot water, but the flow, assured the students.
“It’s in terms of water pressure,” says Adrian. As many of us must get up at the same time in the morning, I only have hot water for a minute, then it becomes cold again. I even have a neighbor who heats water in a saucepan to rinse her hair in her bathroom. Apparently it’s the same in the other building. “
The Crous ordered the part, the work must take place on Wednesday October 27
According to the student, “the problems would have started at the same time as the renovation works of the Chapou swimming pool”, which plays the residence.
The Crous Occitanie, which “La Dépêche du Midi” was able to reach on Monday, October 25, explains that “the domestic hot water network of one of the seven buildings of the Chapou residence encountered malfunctions last month. The problem was reported to the teams, it was immediately taken into account and the service provider entered. The faulty part was immediately requested upon intervention. “
“However, the part being unavailable due to supply difficulties linked to the Covid, adds the management of the CROUS, the delivery times have been extended.”
The repair is scheduled for Wednesday, October 27.
