The popular ones in Thessaloniki are closed today
There will be no mobilization, as, as the representatives of the producers say, they do not want to create a problem in the city.

Producers from all over the country will hold a rally in Athens today, while delegations will submit a protest resolution.
In Thessaloniki the popular ones will remain closed within it nationwide strike, however, there will be no mobilization as stated by the president of the Federation of Producers of Popular Markets of Northern Greece in Voria.gr Angelos Deretzis, the derivatives do not want to cause any disturbance in the city. “The popular protests will be closed today and our delegation is going down to Athens, for the rally. “We do not want to create a problem, we just want to protest outside Parliament and table a resolution.”
According to Mr. Deretzis, the government with the bill puts a gravestone in the public markets and will send the producers to unemployment. “The social character of the people would change,” he said.
He points out that the bill “abolishes the free attendance of producers, who as soon as it was harvested, got a permit from the municipality and could go to the popular. This is now being abolished as there will be an announcement once a year. They want to make all the producers producers, the popular ones are made for the small producers so that the people can find quality and cheap food. “If people wanted intermediaries, they would go to the supermarket and the grocery stores,” he emphasizes.
The derivatives are calling for the bill to be repealed and a dialogue with the government resumed.
