On Thursday 21 October, on the occasion of the usual convivial of the Panathlon Club San Marino, the protagonists of the conquest of the 5th championship of Italian Baseball Champions were hosted.

The President of the San Marino Baseball Club were present Mauro Fiorini, the Caoch Trainer Doriano Bindi and the Vice President of the San Marino Baseball-Softball Federation Peter Lonferni. After having reconstructed the history of San Marino Baseball, born in the early 1970s thanks to the passion of several young people who returned from the migratory experience in the United States, President Fiorini focused on the continuous development of baseball and the satisfactions it has given in these years in the sports world. The coach Doriano Bindi, of all five biancazzurri championships, summing up that briefly the triumphal journey of his team (only two defeats out of 26 matches), with the innate passion he distinguishes, already has the mind in the sixth championship and the Champions Cup that the ours to the other boys will have the right to compete for the European teams.

Vice President Lonfernini, obviously very satisfied with the fifth title won, illustrated the Federation’s continuous commitment in supporting the affiliated Clubs together that systems and equipment have very important costs.
Great enthusiasm and emphasis was given to the recent news of the hiring, for the first time in the history of our baseball, of our fellow citizen Alessandro Ercolani, 17, by the professional team of the Pittsburgh Pirates (Florida) with a contract that will tie him to the American team for 6 years. This will stimulate other young people to approach the sport of hitting and running.
The President of the Panathlon Club, Leo Achilli, on behalf of the members and all the San Marino sportsmen, was pleased with the guests for the extraordinary results obtained, encouraging them to continue on this path, never forgetting the founding values ​​of Sport.
