the fight “for the honor” of a former soldier who became a school nurse
Former soldier, Albert Cazau-Pedarre has been a school nurse at the Robert Roger college in Rieumes since 2008. Since Monday, October 25, he has appeared in front of the rectorate of the Toulouse academy. He considers that he is “discriminated against” even though his years of service have not been taken into account.
Albert Cazau-Pedarre will spend part of his vacation in front of the rectorate. Since Monday, October 25, he has been demonstrating to alert him to his situation, which he describes as “scandalous”. He hopes to be received by the rector of the Toulouse academy, “the only one who could change the situation”.
After more than twenty years serving as a nurse in the Army, Albert Cazau-Pedarre returned to National Education in 2008. The former soldier was recruited as part of the reserved jobs and has since worked at the Robert Roger college in Rieumes.
In an open letter to the rector of the Toulouse Academy, he wrote: “Your services have refused me the application of the approved statutory granted to all nurses recruited in the National Education, including former soldiers (…) I am therefore the only nurse in France not to have received a resumption of ” full seniority of the nursing services entirely upon recruitment as found in the texts . “
Consequences: he cannot claim the same salary, pension and career development as colleagues who nevertheless have the same profile and the same experience as him.
Thirteen years of proceedings
The rectorate was condemned on December 31, 2018 by the Administrative Court of Appeal of Bordeaux but the Ministry of National Education brought the case before the Council of State which ruled in favor of the public administration. He explains : “It’s been thirteen and I’ve been fighting against the Toulouse academy. No matter how much it comes to them, they made a mistake, they don’t want to admit it. It is exhausting to fight against a contemptuous administration.“
The rectorate, for its part, considers having “acted in accordance with the law“, while remembering to have”received Mr. Cazau-Pedarre to accompany him and explain the situation to him“. The school nurse does not give up so far and continues his fight.
I fight for my honor.
He can count on the support of other school nurses and his colleagues. “After doing a twenty minute walkout last week at college, a few teachers took turns this morning.», Rejoiced the former soldier.
A first aid trainer, he also takes advantage of his mobilization for former passers-by. “These are citizenship actions that will allow a few to know how to do a cardiac massage and install a defibrillator.”
