the Calix viaduct closed on the nights of October 25 to 28 for new maintenance work
The repair work on the Calix viaduct in the Caen agglomeration continues, with a new phase starting the week of October 25: consequence, the viaduct will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., on nights from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 October, in the Paris-Cherbourg direction, between the “Rives de l’Orne” interchange and the “Vallée des Jardins” interchange.
The ring road will also be closed from 8 pm to 6 am between Monday 25 and Thursday 28 October in the direction Cherbourg-Paris, between the “Porte d’Angleterre” and “Pierre Heuzé” interchanges. Finally, a last night of work will lead to a closure of the ring road to traffic in the Paris-Cherbourg direction, always between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., between the “Pierre Heuzé” and “Vallée des Jardins” interchanges.
The end of the work scheduled for mid-November
The Direction Interdépartementale des Routes Nord-Ouest (DIRNO) must carry out renewal work on the wearing course of the ring road, as well as additional maintenance work on the Calix viaduct. Deviations are put in place on both sides of the viaduct, via the Colombelles bridge for light vehicles only, and towards Ouistreham via the Pégasus bridge.
According to the prefecture of Calvados, the initial schedule should be respected, with the end of the work scheduled for November 15, 2021. Note that vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are still prohibited on the Calix viaduct, until the end of the work.
