Testing awaits pupils from eight districts when they return to school. Prague wants to test all students
“The convoy of the Ministry of Education with antigen tests is already on the way. Primary and secondary schools in eight districts, in which the Ministry of Health decided to test on November 1 and 8, are accepted through the founders in the coming days,” Plaga added. According to Ledová, the supplies delivered to schools should be enough for both rounds of testing. On Tuesday, the ministry will send them information on how everything will be organized.
The Ministry of Health and Education agreed last week that on November 1 and 8, schools would be tested in districts with a weekly increase in new cases of covid-19 of more than 300 per 100,000 inhabitants. The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) stated today that the data from the selected Sunday decided on selected districts, because it takes a week to prepare testing. Additional districts may join the second round of testing on November 8 if the situation there worsens. The district of Šumperk (305) and Olomouc (300) now also have an incidence of over 300. Near the border are Brno-město (299), Plzeň-město (272), Praha-východ (271), Frýdek-Místek (269), Nový Jičín (266) and Kolín (273).
The Ministry of Education currently has a reserve of about three million antigen tests for covid-19. There are about 1.4 million pupils in primary and secondary schools throughout the Czech Republic, and testing in eight selected districts should cover about 12 percent of them.
The chairman of the Central Crisis Staff, Jan Hamáček (CSDD), said today that the Ministry of Health to estimate how many covid tests will be needed by the end of the year. If necessary, the material reserves management will purchase additional ones. The Ministry of Health originally wanted to use the opportunity to order 1.6 million tests from the September contract in schools, but later agreed to this plan, with the proviso that testing in schools will no longer be necessary.
@zdravkoonline decided on testing on 1 and 8 November at primary and secondary schools in the following eight districts: České Budějovice, Ostrava-město, Prostějov, Prachatice, Brno-venkov, Přerov, Opava and Karviná. Testing will involve about 165 thousand students.

Prague wants comprehensive testing of schoolchildren for covid and a change in quarantine measures
The management of the Prague City Hall requires the introduction of repeated comprehensive testing of pupils at schools on covid-19. At the same time, it wants to change the quarantine measures for classes where the covid is located, so that children with a negative test do not have to stay at home. Representatives of the city will discuss the measures with the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Education and Health, as well as with hygiene. Prague Councilor Vít Šimral (Pirates) told the press today. In Prague, 40 percent of primary schools and 60 percent of secondary schools ordered director’s leave for covid as of today and Tuesday.
“At the very least, I try to ensure as actively as possible that during the rest of the year there will be outages in the teaching of co., Which will be the place where covid will spread,” said Šimral.
Today, Šimral repeated the attitude of Prague from last week, when he was talking about comprehensive testing of pupils. At the same time, the city wants to change quarantine measures. “At the same time, we would like to negotiate a change in the style of quarantine to the so-called jaundice,” said Šimral. This would mean that the quarantined class should start teaching and take breaks at different times than the other classes.
After Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna (VZP), the municipality wants to increase the payment of tests, especially PCR tests, which, according to Šimral, are testing more and more Prague schools. The councilor also said that tests from the state reserve fund should also be released for Prague. “We see area testing as a more effective way to respond to the same number,” he said.
The municipality is currently negotiating to send its mobile vaccination team to schools. “We know that the tendency to vaccinate is higher, and we are also seeing it among teachers,” he said. The teachers are said to have been vaccinated by the government’s intention that unvaccinated teachers will have to teach in respirators.
Prague’s chief hygienist Zdenka Jagrova said on Wednesday last week that the number of infected children is rising sharply. Within the seven-day numbers, last Wednesday, children in the 12-15 age group had a morbidity of 379 per 100,000, an increase of 136 percent over Tuesday. “Children aged six to 11 have a slightly lower morbidity, 352 per 100,000, and the rise in morbidity is 40 percent,” Jagrova said.
