In Průmyslová and Kbelská streets, lanes will be added for turning right into Poděbradská street in the direction from the center and in the direction to the center. “Another modification is the addition of a connecting lane in Průmyslová Street and the relocation of tram stops from the east side of the intersection to the west, “the document says.

New traffic lights

The reconstruction also includes the replacement of traffic lights, relocation of public lighting and traction poles, addition of drainage at the intersection or modification of traffic signs. Roads and sidewalks will be made of asphalt concrete. “The road will be lined with granite curbs, the sidewalks will be separated from the street green areas by a concrete curb,” the document states.

The city will cooperate with the developer on the reconstruction through its company Technical Administration of Communications (TSK), which is in charge of the management and restoration of roads and sidewalks. Of the total number of costs, the development company will gradually pay CZK 18 million.

The busy intersection is used by cars traveling from Štěrbohol via Hloubětín further to Prosek and the motorway to Ústí nad Labem. In the past, the former city administration considered that the intersection was so-called level, that is, one of the directions would be recessed and the cars would not have to wait for traffic lights. In the end, Prague withdrew from the plan.
