Moldovan authorities want, together with Gazprom, to decide the fate of debts for Russian gas
The Moldovan authorities are planning, together with Gazprom, to figure out how to pay off long-term debts for Russian gas. This was announced on the air of one of the local TV channels by the Prime Minister of the country Natalya Gavrilitsa.
The Prime Minister of Moldova announced her readiness to pay part of the debts for gas, but did not name either the exact period or the amount. She stressed that the republican authorities do not know where this debt came from.
“We want to conduct an audit, possibly jointly with Gazprom, in order to find out the exact amount of the debt and figure out how to pay it,” Gavrilitsa said. RIA News…
Representatives of Gazprom previously stated that Russian gas supplies to the republic will continue only if the Moldovan side pays a debt of $ 700 million. Otherwise, from December 1, 2021, the supply of blue fuel to the republic will be stopped.
Gavrilitsa noted that Moldova wants to sign another contract for the supply of Russian gas for at least one year.
Earlier, Tsargrad reported that Chisinau insists on revising Moldova’s old debts for Russian gas.
