In Avignon, the InterSystems patient portal is successfully deployed
The establishment is also studying other avenues, in particular access to the telemedicine module via the InterSystems portal. “This has already been implemented in the Middle East, where online appointment booking covers both face-to-face and remote consultations. This is the case, for example, at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman.Such an organization could make sense to better integrate telemedicine into the care pathway ”, continues the CIO by insisting on ” high interest “ that he finds to carry this project in collaboration with an international publisher: “We can draw on the best practices observed elsewhere to benefit our healthcare professionals and our patients”. And the Middle East experience is far from illustrating, on its own, the application potential of the InterSystems TrakCare Personal Community portal.
Florence Cureau, for example, mentions secure messaging, “Through which a patient can seek advice from the team following him to limit congestion in hospital services”. She also cites the example of Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where the portal is used to improve patient pathway management and treatment plans for chronically ill children, or NHS Lothian, Scotland, which is there. recourse to manage the scheduling of Covid vaccination appointments throughout the country. “It is an extremely versatile solution that adapts to several contexts of use, including on a technical level. In Avignon, the portal is combined and interfaced with the DPI TrakCare. But it can also be deployed with DPI levels, or in a multi-establishment and multi-DPI organization ”, she explains. The latter case has already been tested and proven in the British establishments of Lincolnshire Health and Care (LHAC), as well as in the American hospital Baystate Health, in Massachusetts. “Set up on the scale of the GHT of Vaucluse, the portal could therefore offer a transversal vision on the care sectors, in particular within the framework of a graduated course where a patient will first be taken care of in a local establishment, then if necessary by the CH d’Avignon as a recourse establishment “, explains Michaël De Block.
