When Miriam * reconnects with David *, a childhood friend, she is far from suspecting that he could attack her little girl. And yet, in June 2021, Louise * (8 years old) will confide in her mother about events that occurred in April, at their home in Moult-Chicheboville, a town located east of Caen (Calvados). A complaint is lodged and the man is placed under judicial supervision with prohibition of contact and obligation of care. Thursday, October 21, 2021, David (31) was tried before the criminal court for “sexual assault on a minor”.
He attacks the child in his room
Miriam is raising her daughter alone with the help of a nanny. She welcomes David to help her because he is alone, without a family and “hurts” him. David will quickly take an interest in the little one, offering to take her to McDonald’s, to the cinema, to the swimming pool. His proposals are frequent and insistent.
That evening in April, he was drinking, and while Myriam is busy on the phone, he joins Louise in her room to play “the game of dada” on her bed. It was then that he would have caressed her buttocks over her habits, then sex. Louise will push his hand away several times. She met end to the scene while going to join her mother. It was not until June that she confided in her. “He touched my pussy,” she reveals to her mother. She will also say:

During the investigation, the mother testifies that it would have happened to David to ask to sleep with the girl. Since then, she has suffered from eating disorders and nightmares. “I dream that he comes to pick me up from school. I would like him to be punished, ”she told investigators.
Potentially dangerous, according to the psychiatrist expert
At the stand, David does not seem to realize the gravity of his actions. “When she took my hand, I thought she wanted to hold it, not push it away,” he says. When the prosecutor asks him if he would have had the same attitude with a woman of his age, he answers no. Psychologically fragile, he made four attempts to end his life and has already been hospitalized in a mental institution. “In his head, he is 15 years old, summarizes the expert psychiatrist. It is dangerous for little girls ”.
When he was 19, his family met him at the door. Blamed for the rape of his 10-year-old stepfather’s daughter, he has not yet been tried, the case being investigated. By requesting 12 months in prison, the prosecutor does not hide his concern: “these are transgressive behaviors of a pedophile nature and he does not seem to have understood the seriousness”.
The defense lawyer points to the extreme distress of the accused. “He is presented as a sexual predator, a monster, but above all he suffers from great psychological fragility and above all he needs support,” she said.
Eight months suspended prison sentence
David finally gets an 8-month suspended prison sentence, with 5 years of socio-judicial follow-up. He will have to work and follow care. It is also prohibited to come into contact with minors, and to exercise, for 10 years, a professional or voluntary activity with minors.
He is registered with the Fijais (computerized judicial file of perpetrators of sexual offenses) and deprived for 5 years of the right of eligibility. In the event of non-compliance with these decisions, he incurs 3 years in prison. He will have to pay 2,500 euros in moral damage to the victim and 1,500 euros to his mother. Lawyers’ fees amount to 800 euros.
