Corona exit controls: Salzburg municipalities under observation
In the state of Salzburg, the number of new corona infections has risen again. The seven-day incidence reached 398.6 on Monday. So far, 60,845 people have tested positive for Covid-19, 806 more than last Friday.
According to EMS, 2,994 people (plus 409) are currently infected with the virus. The number of corona patients in the hospital has risen to 75, 15 of whom are infected in the intensive care unit.
2,850 new corona infections on Monday
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Health, 2,850 new coronavirus infections were recorded in Austria on Monday. 225 new cases were added in the state of Salzburg.

In a district comparison, the seven-day incidence on Monday was highest in Tennengau with 628, deaths from Flachgau with 574.9 and Pongau with 390.7. Results of the lollipop tests
In order to filter out corona cases, voluntary and free lollipop tests have been offered in 609 childcare facilities in Salzburg since September 27th. After four weeks, the regional councilor Andrea Klambauer (NEOS) took stock on Monday. As of October 22nd, out of around 18,000 PCR smears, two samples were positive. Meanwhile, the number of people infected with corona in the state has increased. Consideration is currently being given to restrictions on leaving the country for other municipalities.
Starting shot for PCR lollipops in kindergartens
Children cannot yet be vaccinated against Corona, but they are possible carriers. Therefore, children in kindergartens can now be tested for an infection using a lollipop PCR test.
A continuation of the lollipop tests in the childcare facilities is currently not planned, informed the state correspondence. The uncomplicated screening showed that the infection rate in the kindergartens is very low, positive Klambauer. The lollipop tests are suitable for toddlers from one year. Parents carried out a test with their children once a week, which was handed in at kindergarten and then picked up and evaluated by the laboratory team.
