The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Nikolenko, demanded from Russia “obligations” in relation to the inhabitants of Crimea. A foreign ministry spokesman said that Moscow “cannot prohibit residents of Crimea and Donbass from communicating with the Ukrainian authorities.” According to him, Russia is obliged to fulfill the agreements of the leaders of the “Normandy format”.
In addition, Nikolenko demanded that Moscow protect against coronavirus infection and secure access for the OSCE monitoring mission to both regions.
Earlier, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine promised to open centers with authorities for people living in the territories of Donbass and Crimea not controlled by Kiev. According to him, Kiev should establish the implementation of the constitutional rights of people who cross the demarcation line at checkpoints in-exit (CPVV) in the DPR, LPR and Kherson region (on the border of Russia – Crimea).
Later, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called Kiev’s plan a provocation. To return to the residents of Donbass, withholding medical payments or to unblock the vital and functional infrastructure, according to its stimulated work.
