The lawyer explained the possible dismissal of Russians on non-working days: Society: Russia: Lenta.ru
Labor lawyer, general director of NS Consulting Dmitry Kofanov explained in what case employees can be fired for absenteeism during non-working days. About this he told portal URA.RU.
He noted that by decree of the president, organizations themselves determine the number of employees to ensure full functioning. Therefore, resting on non-working days from October 30 to November 7 with the preservation of wages only for those employees who are absent from the workplace will not affect the activities of the enterprise.
For example, employees working on the transfer of salaries or security guards must go to work on their own schedule, without receiving additional payments. “For other categories of employees, there are no fines for absenteeism, but there is a risk of dismissal. However, in this case, the employer must prove why there is a presence of this particular employee at the workplace, ”the message says.
Earlier, the Russians revealed what they would do on non-working days from October 30 to November 7. More than half of the respondents will spend most of their days off at home, while about 29 percent of the respondents will go to their dacha. Almost every tenth respondent decided to go on a trip to Russia, and 5.5 percent are either thinking about going abroad or have already bought tickets. At the same time, a quarter of citizens during this period earn extra money. At the same time, more than a third of the population (34.3 percent) do not make plans for the coming weekend and just want to relax.
On October 19, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova came up with an initiative for non-working days from October 30 to November 7. However, she noted that some regions should consider non-working days from October 23. The vice-premier did not elaborate on what constituent entities of the Russian Federation are in question. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported her proposal and noted that now it is especially important “to bring down the peak of the new wave of the epidemic.” He also instructed the heads of the regions where the high incidence of COVID-19 is recorded to assess the situation and non-working days a week earlier.
