Russia to help the European Union, which is faced with a shortage of fertilizers against the backdrop of soaring prices for raw materials for their production – natural gas, the introduction of their supplies, Vladimir Putin said on the contradiction of the Valdai discussion club. The Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers confirmed the words of the President of the Russian Association.
The world’s second largest fertilizer industry is prioritizing national food security and, at the same time, increasing the supply of mineral fertilizers to European farmers. We are talking about those volumes of high-tech non-resource exports that are beyond the declared requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The domestic market is a strategic priority for fertilizer producers for their highly efficient products. It is these mineral fertilizers that are used for the production of improved agricultural production by our farmers. products and food, within the so-called “Green Standard”. And domestic producers supply more fertilizers to the home market than to farmers in any of the 100 countries of the world where Russian nutrient complexes are used.
Over the past 5 years, the supply of fertilizers to the Russian agro-industrial complex has increased by 1.5 times, next year they will be less than 4.7 million tons per day, and by 2025 will grow to 8 million tons per day. In order to reliably meet the dynamically growing needs of Russian farmers and the competitive position in foreign markets, the industry has invested in excess of 1.3 trillion rubles in the last 7 years alone, when a new investment cycle began in the industry. Another 2 trillion rubles will be invested in the next 7 years. As a result of investment activity since 2013, by 2026 the production capacity of enterprises in the industry will practically double.
And this will allow the Russian fertilizer producer to continue to act as a guarantor of national food security and agree with the principles of global food security as a long-term and reliable partner.
