Rainwater retention is one of the topics of the Roofs of Prague 2022 trade fair
The 23rd year of the Roofs of Prague trade fair, which will take place on 10 – 12 February 2022 at the exhibition center in Prague Letňany, will offer many novelties and current topics. One of them is the retention and use of rainwater.
Raw water reserves are constantly decreasing and it is necessary to solve the problem of sources of this water, the possibility of its capture at the point of fall and subsequent accumulation. The roof is an ideal space for capturing rainwater and the fair will focus on the theme.
Solutions for water-efficient management are therefore now a necessity. Therefore, the legislation is changing, the definition of service water is being introduced, it is being introduced as an obligation for all new buildings to retain rainwater or allow it to seep in, and other changes are taking place in the laws regulating the rules for rainwater management. Builders must therefore ensure infiltration on the surface, evaporation or accumulation and use as utility water in the building. Only if it proves the impracticability of such a solution, a regulated outflow of rainwater from the land can be allowed.
At the fair, you will learn how there are effective rainwater retention solutions for future use, what “utility water” is and what parameters it must meet, for example for watering or flushing, for whom the Dešťovka grant program is intended and what documents are needed when applying.
The new rules will also apply within the decree to the Water Supply and Sewerage Act. Advantages buildings with green roofswhich prevent the outflow of water into the sewer. The issue of rainwater and green roofs will also be addressed Blue Green Infrastructure Forum, which is organized by the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians in Construction on the second day of the fair.
