PRAGUE

One accident every two kilometers. Where in Prague is there a threat of a clash with game most often?

Sugar Mizzy October 24, 2021

Such is at least a summary of the findings from accidents with animals surveyed by the police, according to which Generali Česká pojišťovna and the Transport Research Center will always be in the spring and autumn. index SRNA. It can refer to tall game, which really dies very often under the wheels of cars, together black game – but it is supposed to represent the designations of Crashing and Destruction. The calculations work with police statistics not only in terms of the number of accidents and the extent of road networks, but also take into account other contexts: the amount of damage to property, health and lives.

One crash occurs every six kilometers

In the currently evaluated period between April and September, there were 1,557 collisions of vehicles with animals registered by the police on Central Bohemian roads. From this point of view, Central Bohemian roads are among the safest in the country: the number is the highest of all regions. However, the recalculation to the length of the road network shows that the smaller region is not very different from the others: the collision took place here on average every 6.2 kilometers (which is comparable to the rest of the republic). At least that’s true from a county perspective; some districts are worse: Mělník 4.4 km, Rakovník 4.5, Mladá Boleslav 4.6, Benešov 5.0 and Příbram 5.8.

The evaluators identified a piece of road II / 608 near Zdib in Prague-East as the most risky place ever. In the section less than a hundred meters long – 95 – in the direction from Zdib to Prague-Dolní Chabry, six accidents of this kind happened in six months. With a total damage of 288 thousand crowns.

The recalculators calculated the recalculation of damage to life, health and property for the entire region at 62 million crowns; exactly at CZK 61,872,579. In the interregional comparison, this figure is extraordinary – although in Eastern Bohemia, for example, the resulting value is also influenced by the method of calculation. “His co-driver did not survive the collision of the biker with the deer after the subsequent fall. The bill for this accident approached 25 million crowns, “reminded Michal Bíl from the Transport Research Center. Within Central Bohemia, according to quantified damages, it dominates the surveys of the Benešov (11 million crowns) and Mladá Boleslav (10 million) districts; with almost seven million, followed by the districts of Nymburk and Příbram and six by Mělník.

Although the number of reported claims decreased slightly compared to the pre-period period, the average damage continues to grow, Patrik Nauš, senior manager of motor vehicle claims settlement, reminded of the organizing insurance company. According to him, the average damage per case is close to 45,000 crowns – and is directly linked to the new technologies with which they are equipped. “They have sensitive sensors, but also sophisticated lighting technologies that place vehicles right in the front end. In the event of a collision, the airbags are also activated and the instrument panel or seats must be replaced, ”explained Nauš. However, the situation will be further exacerbated by rising prices for materials, painting and other work.

Prague has recorded exactly one hundred accidents

In the imaginary ranking compiled according to the number of accidents, Benešov (241), Mladá Boleslav (199) and Příbram (164) would be at the head of the district. Rakovník (145) and Mělník (141) followed by a distance. It is not possible to compare with the environment Prague, even in the capital, an equal hundred collisions were recorded in the monitored period – one accident every two kilometers in terms of road length – with damage of four million. The section of the I / 12 road near Prague-Běchovice seems to be the absolute most risky in the metropolis: between the Škvorecká branch and the Klánovice-Čihadla nature park. In the section with a length of 381 meters, there were eight accidents with a total damage of 221 thousand crowns. With a hundred accidents, the capital can be compared to the Central Bohemian territory of Prague-East (101); according to the amount of damage again with Berounsko.
