Grenoble on its way, Rouen dauphin
10/24/2021 9:45 p.m.
As Grenoble continued their winning streak, Angers lost to Anglet and ceded second place in the Ligue Magnus standings to Rouen, who took the better of Cergy-Pontoise.
Grenoble is quietly continuing its series of victories. Traveling on the ice of Mulhouse, the Brûleurs de Loups signed a seventh consecutive success in the Magnus League. Aurélien Dair set the tone with two goals in the 10th and 22nd minutes before Olivier Labelle gave the Scorpions hope five minutes later. However, Kyle Shearer Hardy allowed Grenoble to take the big step back before seeing Sacha Treille and then Joël Champagne spice up the bill at the edge of the last ten minutes. Matthew Pistilli allowed Mulhouse to finish the match on a good note but it was still a second loss in a row for the Red Lantern (2-5). Les Brûleurs de Loups are still nine points ahead of Rouen. The Dragons, for their part, hardly got the best of Cergy-Pontoise. The Jokers even opened the scoring early in the second period through Norbert Abramov. The match was packed at the half-hour mark with David Gilbert then Sacha Guimond for Rouen then Tuukka Rajamaki for Cergy-Pontoise who scored in the space of two minutes. The end of the match, however, allowed Loïc Lampérier and Joris Bedin to secure a fifth straight league victory.
Anglet falls to third place
A victory which allows the Dragons to seize second place tied on points with Angers. The Dukes have, in fact, fallen for the second time in a row during their trip to Anglet. The two goalkeepers, Florian Hardy for the Hormadi and Julian Heyligen Barrier on the Angevin side, kept their clean sheet for three-quarters of the match. But, fifteen minutes from the end of the meeting, Victor Ranger made the difference for Anglet. THE‘Hormadi sees his two-game losing streak come to an end as the Dukes fall to third place on the podium. An evening which also saw Briançon find color. After five consecutive defeats in the league, the Red Devils won the Hautes-Alpes derby against Gap. The first period saw Rudolf Huna then Filip Hudak give Briançon the advantage twice, Romain Gutierrez having meanwhile equalized for Les Rapaces. Pierre Robert once again tied the two teams just before half an hour into the game… but Quentin Fauchon converted a penalty of 40 seconds later. Rudolf Huna went there for his double to make the break before Julien Correa gave some hope to Gap (3-4) in vain.
