Eric Zemmour mocked after a tweet riddled with errors on Rouen

Sugar Mizzy October 24, 2021

While in Rouen, where he gave a kind of meeting, Eric Zemmour split a tweet that has ulcerated historians. The polemicist wrote several gross errors.

Eric Zemmour will now turn his thumb seven times before twitter. Friday, October 22, the polemicist, not yet a candidate for the 2022 presidential election, was in Rouen where he gave speeches in front of several hundred supporters. Visibly delighted with his visit to Normandy, the former CNews columnist cracked a message that has ulcerated historians. “I came here, to Rouen, to the land of the D-Day landings and Joan of Arc to talk to you about defense and foreign policy”Eric Zemmour wrote on his Twitter account. A short message … which contained two gross errors on French history. The first one ? Evoke Rouen as “the land of the Landings”. If the Allied forces did land in Normandy in 1944, it was in present-day Lower Normandy and not in Upper Normandy, of which Rouen was the capital until 2015.

The second ? Speak of Rouen as being the “land of Joan of Arc”. Because if she was indeed imprisoned then judged in the tower of the Castle of Philippe Auguste and finally burned on the place of the Old Market, she exceeded the majority of her existence far from Rouen. Born in the Vosges, Joan of Arc made a name for herself above all in Orléans, where she pushed back the English during the Hundred Years War. And if some Internet users defend Eric Zemmour, many have gleefully laughed at him. “After Genghis Khan bringing down Rome, here is the unloading was done in Rouen and the land of Joan of Arc is where the English burned it … Cultivated, this buffoon?,” “Zemmour wanted to be Enarque he failed several times, they say it historian, it is again failed. After Pétain who saved the Jews, Genghis Khan invaded Rome here is now Joan of Arc from Rouen where the landing took place. What a cancer “, can we read on Twitter.

Eric Zemmour, “the only one to bring together”

While in Rouen, Eric Zemmour outlined what could be his political program if he embarks on the race for the Elysee … without clarifying his intentions, while the polls now announce it in the second round of the 2022 presidential election. “There are several candidates facing Emmanuel Macron. Marine Le Pen only affects the working classes. It is already good but she does not leave her sociology of the working classes, he analyzed with CNews. […] It gives weight, it gives strength but it never allows France to win. The LR candidate, for his part, does not touch the working classes at all. There is a particular sociology of people who are more CSP + and people who are more retired. ” With our colleagues, he considered himself to be “the only one to bring together people who come, and popular classes and CSP +, what I call bourgeois patriots”.
