Munich (dpa / lby) – In a subway station in the east of Munich, a dispute between two youth groups has escalated, with an 18-year-old suffering from a stab wound. The young man was taken to a hospital. All other participants were initially able to escape undetected. Late on Saturday evening, the police were called to the Karl-Preis-Platz underground station in Munich-Ramersdorf. Witnesses reported a heated argument by young people over the use of pepper spray. In addition, at least one shot was fired. The alerted officers found the injured man on the platform, albeit with a stab or cut wound; a shot was probably not fired, a police spokesman was positive. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported.
The police initially searched for five people from the group of perpetrators. The group around the last one consisted of at least three people. Because the subway station was well attended at the time of the crime, the exact number of participants was not yet clear, said the police spokesman. The reason for the dispute is also not yet known. The immediate search for those involved was initially unsuccessful.
The U2 trains initially no longer stopped at the Karl-Preis-Platz underground station. This should last until 11.30 p.m., announced the Munich transport company.
