MOTOGP, BATHROOM IN POLE: HIGHLIGHTS – TV GUIDE
In dry and wet conditions, Misano is his home. Third in qualifying a month earlier, in pole position on this occasion, Nicolò Antonelli he is definitely the best current interpreter of the Romagna track. In the rain he also showed off his certified skills as a skilled driver on the slippery asphalt. “In mixed conditions I felt good” the Romagna rider reiterated at the end of the turn, then turning a thought to Marco Simoncelli (he ran until 2020 in the team named after the driver who died in 2011). The challenge for the title instead recorded the step forward of Pedro Acosta finished in the second row with the fifth time after a difficult start the day before. Step that failed to Dennis Foggia, his direct rival in the championship, finished farther, two rows behind, in fourteenth position. The more favorable weather, expected for the race, should put the Roman rider in a position to climb the classification, but the Spaniard seems to be in good shape. In the latest outings Acosta seemed to blame the return of Foggia, back from five consecutive podiums. In Misano, despite the rain, the determined and confident Spaniard from the first races met up to now.
Rossi 3rd, Fenati called to comeback
In the group of Italians, Antonellli aside, the new recruits have emerged: Riccardo Rossi, even third, and Alberto Surra, seventh. More experienced pilots, like Fenati and Migno. The former never found the pace, nor even an acceptable set-up for the wet, stopping in Q1. On Sunday he will start far back, from the nineteenth box, in the third last row. The second, who got off to a good start on Friday, paid for his crash on Saturday morning which forced him to pass from Q1 where he also stopped. He too will have to face a difficult chase, starting from twenty-second place, trusting in his knowledge of the track and hoping for the asphalt.
