Moldova more attractive than France! Impressions of a British journalist after visiting our country PUBLIC .MD
Why is Moldova more attractive than France? This is the question that a journalist from the British publication “The Telegraph” managed to answer, after visiting several wineries in our country.
Chris Leadbeater began his logbook at Mimi Castle in the village of Bulboaca, which he compares to the Gardens of Versailles at the end of the 17th century. The Briton says he was impressed by the architecture and history of the complex, as well as the wines tasted, perfect for a Frenchman’s meal.
And the underground city of Cricova is compared by the journalist to a lair of a character from the James Bond movies. He writes that wine and the Cold War combine perfectly with labyrinths, full of galleries and dark cellars.
As for the Atu winery, Leadbeater says that it is part of a new generation of wineries, with an urban atmosphere and compares the interior of the complex with a craft brewery. Chris Leadbeater ended his expedition at Asconi, a winery that he says has managed to embrace the 21st century and preserve a part of the past.
The Briton says that he managed to spend time here, he will prove to be emblematic of a country where the past is obvious, the present is full of hope – and the future is still unwritten.
