4-2 in a game with three expulsions
Sporting Clube de Portugal’s main futsal team was surprised this Saturday by AD Fundão and lost 4-2 in a match for the fourth round of the regular phase of the National Championship.
For this match Nuno Dias initially bet on Guitta, Erick Mendonça, João Matos, Pauleta and Alex Merlim.
The home team took the lead after four minutes of play, by Peléh, but Sporting CP quickly responded, with the draw coming at the feet of Zicky Té. All the same, but in the following minute, another setback for the Lions with the expulsion of Tomás Paçó with a direct red, after a hand on the ball.
Despite the opportunities, there was only another goal after 19 minutes and, again, for AD Fundão, by Felipe Leite. Thus, Sporting CP was to lose 2-1 for the break.
At the start of the match, the Lions tried to reach a draw again, but they lacked some advantage in front of goal, with Guitta on the other side preventing the home team, who was also without Bebé, after another red straight in the match, increase the advantage.
Sporting CP, with some difficulties, still had the opportunity to reach 2-2, but the AD Fundão goalkeeper also knew how to avoid another draw, until, at 37 minutes, it was on the other side that there was another goal. Peléh made the second from his personal account and 3-1 for the home team.
Caio Ruiz shortened the disadvantage in the following minute, relaunching the match for the last minutes, but at 39 Miguel Ângelo was also sent off and he even scored the home team again, this time by Thalles.
Sporting CP thus fell to second, still in condition, on the journey before traveling to Slovenia where they will play, between 27 and 30 October, the Main Round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League, which they won last season.
