We got to know senior-friendly places in Warsaw. Today, the awards were received by 22 institutions and associations from 16 districts. – The awards were given to places that are open to the elderly – says the vice-president of Warsaw Aldona Machnowska-Góra.
– It may be one that has eliminated its architectural barriers to make it friendly to seniors. Sometimes they are literal in leaflets. Seniors have weaker eyesight and we do not realize that they stand in front of e.g. a blackboard, they cannot create what is written there – explains Aldona Machnowska-Góra.
– This year, we awarded 22 facilities in the categories – adds the vice-president of Warsaw. – For example, the House of Daily Support for Warsaw Insurgents in Wola, but also the public library in Ursus, so in different places and in different groups. Białołęka Sports Center, but also a sports center in Wawer; Och-Teatr and Teatr Polonia – replace.
