” Now enough with sterile controversies, let’s go to the process of statization ”
“The TAR, pending the sentence set for May 24, 2022, pronounced a long suspension that allows the Institute to continue its activities in the premises that the convention, ratified also in 2019 by this Administration, granted it.
The Municipality of Siena has improperly made people believe that the interests of Franci’s students are in conflict with those of Piccolomini. Thinking of resolving the roles of the latter by causing damage to the Conservatory is an unhealthy idea that reveals the disinterest of this Municipal Administration towards the culture and the future of the city and an attention paid more to the personal than to the common good.
We can discuss the historical responsibilities that have led to the current situation that sees Piccolomini in suffering for several years, we cannot question the needs of an institute of high musical education in such a delicate phase of its existence, which soon sees the much sweaty process of statization. In this affair the only short-sighted attitude is that of the Municipal Administration which is threatening to compromise this very important result.
So that’s enough now. The Municipality of Siena should stop thinking of being able to place the Franci in a marginal and in fact provisional place, removing the dignity of a centuries-old institution of musical education in one fell swoop. The problem cannot be reduced to just moving some piano from one place to another or simply soundproofing the premises.
We also remember that the Franci statization process, which must take place in November, this year will result in savings for the unali coffers which will be able to have over time to solve the logistical suffering of Piccolomini, but also of all the other Institutes that suffer from a similar situation.
This controversy has gone on too long. We ask the administration to put the interest of the city and the great municipalities of Siena, such as its excellence in the artistic-musical field, at the center of its objectives.
Siena deserves all of this. The CGIL and the FLC CGIL of Siena will ensure that the statization process is not compromised, to ensure that a job is not lost and that Franci and Siena do not lose out from this bad affair. “
