There are free tickets for visitors who want to pray. The income goes to the maintenance of the early baroque church. Up to the 400th anniversary there are some innovations to be made: The video surveillance is to be expanded, panic buttons are to be installed and even a “Domschweizer” is to be hired.
From Saturday, visitors aged 18 and over who want to visit the cathedral will pay five euros. That is not an entrance fee, but a maintenance contribution, says the director of the sacristy, Dietmar Koisser. Because the cathedral is encouraged to maintain itself and not devour church fees. In addition to the annual material costs of 500,000 euros, there are personnel and renovation costs.
