The climate protection movement Fridays For Future (FFF) Salzburg also took part in the ninth climate strike. According to FFF, around 300 people are said to have attended today’s protest march in the city of Salzburg.
Under the catchphrase “intergenerational justice”, the strike participants protested for compliance with the 1.5 degree target and called on the city government to stop the expansion of the Mönchsberggarage.
Climate strike in Salzburg
In addition to the students, numerous parents, grandparents and other climate protection advocates marched along, according to a broadcast by FFF. Action must be taken on all political levels, that is, the demand. The state government is therefore asked to present a plan on how the emissions reduction target can be achieved.
CO2 pricing too low
The movement is criticizing the planned CO2 pricing of 30 euros per ton. The measure does not create cost truth and is too little an incentive for climate-friendly behavior.
