Of the 308 municipalities in mainland and insular Portugal, 284 have low to moderate levels of accumulated to 14 days (up to 240 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants). At the opposite end, 10 counties present a very high or extremely high risk.

Penedono, single county in the highest category, increased the incidence compared to the previous week – 1,166 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, to 2,138. This gives an estimated increase from 35 to 64 cases in this municipality in the district of Viseu, which has about 3,000 inhabitants.
Alvito (with 2,500 inhabitants) and Cuba (with 4,900), which last week were also at extremely high risk, lowered the tax – now having an estimate of 20 and 37, in 14 days, respectively.
DGS. Low population density regions have higher incidences
This week, Campo Maior, Penamacor and São Pedro do Sul have also seen an increase since last week. Excluding Rio Maior, all territories are of low density, that is, few cases in a small population represent high incidence values per 100,000 inhabitants.
The transferability index has been rising and is already above 1 – R
- 1 county with extremely high risk level (above 960 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants) – two fewer than the week before;
- 9 councils with very high risk (between 480 and 959.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants) – one more than the week before;
- 13 councils with high risk (between 240 and 479.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants) – two fewer than the week before;
- 39 councils with moderate risk (between 120 to 239.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants) – four fewer than the week before;
- 245 municipalities with low risk (less than 120 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants) – six more than the week before.
With the exception of Lisbon (at the moderate level), the remaining 17 municipalities in the Lisbon metropolitan area have low low levels (below 120 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants). Some of them with an upward trend since last week, such as Lisbon, which went from 96 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 131. The biggest increases in the increase were registered in Lisbon, Mafra, Alcochete and Setúbal.

Arouca, the only territory with low incidence in the Porto metropolitan area, continues to be the one with the highest cumulative incident, but with a large decrease from the previous week. São João da Madeira, which had a second highest incidence last week, also declined.
Porto increased from 109 to 135 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days. Vale de Cambra, Maia, Póvoa de Varzim, Santo Tirso, Espinho and Matosinhos also stand out in terms of increased impact.
