The journey in memory of the victims of covid-19 starts this Friday with all the initiatives across the country that extend until Sunday, when prosecutors call for a minute of silence at 2 pm.

“We believe that during these three days there will indeed be a very interesting public expression and we do not want to, and we cannot forget what we experienced during a pandemic and we affirm the hope that we must necessarily move towards a less unequal, more capable society. of strength of each one of us, “he argues. everything constitutes the strength of each one of us”.
According to Jorge Wemans, the initiatives that fundamentally aim to honor the deaths, remind all professionals from different sectors, such as health, who kept “society alive during times of confinement” and, above all, “underline the hope for a better future” .
At the end of the morning, the Assembly of the Republic approved a vote of solidarity and congratulations for the convening of this journey.
On Sunday morning, the Air Force Music Band and the Armada Music Band fill Rossio, in Lisbon, with music played in honor of the memory of the pandemic killings and for the hope of a fairer, more fraternal and more marked country for equality. At 2 pm, the population is challenged to stop and have a minute of silence.
“This minute of silence will serve to, once again, make us aware that we have reasons to believe that, if a society was able to unite to win a pandemic, it is also able, somehow, to go much further to build a fairer, more fraternal and more solidary society”, he stressed.
The closing ceremony of the day will be presided over by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who “followed the initiative closely”.
“He will be with us at the end of this journey on Sunday at around 6pm on the grounds attached to the Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, where we are going to plant a tree, which we will call the Arvore da Memória”, he stressed.
The group that presents this proposal is composed of people from various fields, including musicians, actors, writers, doctors, politicians, journalists, jurists, among others.
