Berlin (AP) – Bundesliga basketball team Alba Berlin celebrated its second victory in the Euroleague. On Friday evening the capital club won after a strong defensive performance in front of 4658 spectators at the Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade with 78:63 (38:25). Alba is in the middle of the table after five matchdays. The best thrower from Berlin was Maodo Lo with 17 points.
Coach Israel Gonzalez had to do without Tim Schneider because of a gastrointestinal infection. For this stand this season Christ Koumadje in the squad. However, the 2.21 meter center was not used. Right from the start, the defensive rows were frequent, both teams had a difficult time offensively. After taking the lead from Roter Stern, Alba came into play better and better.
