44 power plant tenders were announced in the Asia-Pacific region in September 2021, a decrease of 20% compared to the last 12-month average of 55, according to GlobalData’s database for tender procedures for the power industry.

T&D Equipment came in first place compared to other energy tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in September 2021 with 72 tenders and a share of 38.7%, followed by Power Plant with 44 tenders and a share of 23.7% and T&D Project with 35 tenders and a share of 18.8% during the month.
The proportion of bids per category that GlobalData tracked during the month was as follows:
- Project implementation: 36 tenders and 81.8% share
- Consultancy and similar services: six tenders and a share of 13.6%
- Repair, maintenance, upgrades and more: two tenders and a 4.5% share.
Solar is top technology for power plant offerings in Asia and the Pacific in September 2021
If you look at power plant tenders by type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar energy accounted for 34 tenders with a share of 77.3%, followed by hydropower with four tenders and a share of 9.1% and wind power with three tenders and a share of 6.8%.

Power plant offer in Asia and the Pacific in September 2021: Top companies by capacity
The largest issuers of power plant offers for the month in terms of power capacity involved in the Asia-Pacific region were:
- NHPC (India): 1,045 MW from two tenders
- NTPC (India) and Ministry of Energy, Uzbekistan: 300MW from a tender
- Gujarat State Electricity (India): 135 MW capacity from two tenders.
