Annecy, labeled “Eco-clean city” – GROUPE ECOMEDIA
First star for Annecy, which has just obtained the “Eco-clean city” label. Launched in 2016 by the Association of Cities for Urban Cleanliness, it rewards communities that take this path.
Annecy receives a first star – the label has five – for having implemented an evaluation methodology based on objective indicators to fight against dog excrement, household garbage bags, illegal dumps, food papers , cigarette butts and wild displays.
Since the beginning of the year, 20 sites of 700 to 3,000 m2 selected by the municipality have been subjected to a meticulous count. These figures are sent each quarter to the association, which can thus measure their cleanliness. It appears that in the first quarter, 75% of these sites were considered “very clean” or “clean”. Unsurprisingly, the first source of soiling identified is paper and packaging (food or not), followed by cigarette butts… A good hearer!
The next step (2e star) for the City will consist of developing actions on these sites to improve cleanliness.
