“The subject of the training this time was a terrorist attack by perpetrators who, after entering the building, attacked a visit with the intended goal of occupying part of the building and taking hostages,” said police spokeswoman Violeta Siřišťová. realistically, as was the case with previous exercises, which have already been identified this year.
“Part of all exercises on this topic is an intervention unit, a special law enforcement unit, a police commander from the motorized emergency unit, first-line patrols, negotiators, an anti-conflict team and, for example, interventions,” the spokeswoman added. As part of the training, negotiations, elimination of perpetrators, evacuation of people, provision of first aid to the injured and other actions took place. There were about 300 extras on the spot, of which several dozen people came from the Prague Central Police School of the Ministry of the Interior. “The extras were credibly disguised for their roles of the wounded or dead. During the exercise, Prague professional firefighters climbed the wounded person from the museum shaft, in cooperation with the Emergency Medical Service and the Police. said Siřišťová.
“I am very pleased that we can participate in the training with the management of the National Museum, for whom we already have a long-term cooperation evaluated at a high level. Thanks to the management of the National Museum, our police officers, together with other IRS units, can check their joint deployment in these very exceptional areas. In this way, I would also like to thank all the intervening police officers, extras and training organizers. Thanks to their approach and excellent long-term cooperation, the training came very close to the real situation. Resolving such emergencies is a complex process, both for the intervening police officers and for the participating IRS units and all other entities. For this reason, it is very important to test our readiness through similar exercises, “said the brig. gene. Tomáš Lerch, Director of the Regional Police Directorate of Prague.
“We are pleased to have taken part in such an extensive exercise again after a two-year hiatus caused by a coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the actual training for this type of extraordinary events with a high number of victims, it is also very beneficial for us to deepen cooperation not only with normally cooperating units, but also with medical organizations from other regions. We trained not only the sorting and treatment of patients on site, but thanks to the involvement of Prague hospitals, we were able to ‘finish’ the exercise until the very end, ie handing over patients in medical facilities where staff provided them with additional care, “said Petr Kolouch, director of the Medical Rescue Service. . of the city of Prague.
“For the National Museum, the issue of the safety of visitors, collections and buildings is crucial. I need to be prepared for different types of threats and potential crises. We have been successfully cooperating with the Police of the Czech Republic and other IRS units for a long time, both in creating our security methodology and at specific security events. The exercise called Museum 2021 was a certain culmination of this long-term cooperation and proved its high quality and complete professionalism of all IRS units and the main training organizer, the Regional Police Directorate of the Capital City of Prague under the leadership of its director Brig. gene. Tomas Lerch. My great thanks and admiration belong to all those who are suitable for the preparation and implementation of this event, “said the General Director of the National Museum Michal Lukeš.
