A solidarity rally was held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Didier Daurat school, in the Reynerie district in Toulouse. Parents, teachers and associations are asking for the emergency rehousing of two pupils aged 7 and 9 and their families.
A solidarity snack was organized on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Didier Daurat elementary school, in the district of La Reynerie, in Toulouse. An initiative of parents of pupils, supported by the collective “A roof to learn” (DAL31, RESF, CGT Education, …). They are asking for the rehousing of two families whose children attend this school.
Of Georgian origin, the two pupils aged 7 and 9 live in conditions “indignant”. One has been living with his family in a car for three months. The other lives in unstable accommodation.

To deal with “an unbearable and incomprehensible situation», They want to continue to challenge the public authorities. Léo Simon, teacher and member of the CGT Education explains that “the prefecture, town hall and social services have been planned for several weeks, but still no response”. He pursues : “We see children arriving with dark circles, tired, unable to learn, stressed, and also ashamed of their peers. And that, we can no longer bear it. We want things to move.”
Some of the parents of students, teachers and members of the collective “A roof to learn” remained until the beginning of the evening in the school, this Thursday, October 21. In total, around 50 people continued to press for emergency accommodation for the families of the two schoolchildren. In vain, they received no response from the public authorities.
