On Friday 22 October at 6.30 pm with a small Eucharistic celebration a community of contemplatives (Benedictine Daughters of the Divine Will) takes up residence in the rectory at the Basilica of Santo Marino. She will be accompanied by the other Sisters of the Community of origin which is based in Talamello (RN) and will be welcomed by the Rector of the Basilica and Vicar Foraneo for San Marino, Fr Marco Mazzanti.
This was announced in a press release from the Diocese of San Marino and Montefeltro. “The Episcopal Curia has made arrangements with the Authorities to guarantee every regularity to their stay. The Sisters have exclusively the mission of prayer, witness and the religious custody of the memory of Saint Marino. In the crypt of nearby San Pietro the Sisters Church will ensure Eucharistic adoration, also open to pilgrims. The entry of the new “tenants” will be discreet, in accordance with the style of their spiritual family and in line with their charism. The Sisters will be available to share in the prayers and hopes of the San Marino citizens. Basilica, sacred temple to the memory of the Founder, place of institutional liturgies, destination of frequent tourism, it will become even more a place of pilgrimage and prayer “.
