On Tuesday, October 19, eight people were arrested in connection with an extortion case and concealment of property resulting from an extortion
All had done so at the sight of the knife. On August 13, 2021, in the Bordeaux Maritime district, a Bordelais who was returning home had been blocked in front of his garage by three individuals who, under the threat of the weapon, had obtained his bank card and his confidential code. They were also distributed with his unlocked cell phone and scooter. A fourth man appeared to be waiting in a vehicle parked nearby.
The same night, according to the same modus operandi, three young people who resulted from an evening had been dispossessed of their codes and payment cards as well as their unlocked phones. By individuals wielding a knife and fleeing in the same type of vehicle that was on the lookout.
A lot of investigative work
Police officers from the Departmental Security Assets Unit have been tasked with numerous investigations. Tracing of phones, location of fraudulent withdrawals with extorted cards, registration of the rented or sublet car used on the night of the facts, technical and scientific police operations led them to the identification and location of seven people.
Tuesday, October 19, eight people, including a teenager, were arrested for extortion and concealment of property resulting from an extortion and placed in custody at the Bordeaux police station. Two thirties, wanted in the context of another case, were imprisoned. Two were released when the others were presented to the prosecution, which will decide on the follow-up to be given to the proceedings.
