A day full of delays. Due to the strong wind, there are 27 tracks, the express train at Doks derailed

Sugar Mizzy October 21, 2021

Due to the strong wind, the trains start to run slower so that they can stop in time in front of a fallen tree on the track.

(updated 13:09) The train journey practically along the entire railway network today will bring a great risk of delay. The reason is the strong wind, especially due to the risk of trees falling on the track. At 1 p.m., traffic on a total of 27 lines was stopped. To this were added other technical problems, for example in the form of a failure of the traction line on the 1st corridor between Prague and Kolín.

“Due to the strong wind, an order is issued to run trains carefully. There may be train delays throughout the rail network. “ stated Prague Integrated Transport on its twitter account. The large volume of delays is shown by the operational applications of the Grapp Railway Administration.

The fallen tree on the track also brought the first extraordinary: on the line from Česká Lípa to Mladá Boleslav in the section Doksy – Jestřebí, the Arriva express drove into the tree and derailed it. Nobody was injured.

The biggest complication in terms of the number of traffic passengers occurred on Corridor I: due to a failure of the traction line, the traffic between Pečky and Poříčany is interrupted. Long-distance trains run through Lysá nad Labem. Operation on one track was resumed before 11 a.m.

So far, strong winds have complicated rail transport, especially in the Pilsen and Karlovy Vary regions. Fallen trees stopped traffic in Domažlice or Pernink in the morning. We are currently dealing with fallen branches on the traction line of the corridor line between Poříčany and Pečky. The operation is stopped from 9:40. pic.twitter.com/qZylSaQKCC

According to the site ČD extraordinary at noon traffic on a total of ten lines was stopped, in the morning it was only on three. Complications are also avoided by corridors: traffic is stopped between Libčice and Roztoky on the Prague – Děčín line due to branches in the traction line.

Every day one experiences something new, today the report, “Don’t get off the train under any circumstances, it’s about life.”

Already in the morning, the operation on the main corridor from Prague to Ústí nad Labem was complicated by a freight train, which got stuck in Roztoky near Prague and another train could not pass the station for over an hour. There are also restrictions on passengers on the line from Prague to Mladá Boleslav, near Byšice the traffic is stopped due to a train collision with a car. In Brno, the operation was stopped for half an hour due to a leak at the Jewish railway station. An overview of the delay is also in Grapp application Railway administrations.
