Prince Albert II of Monaco was in Ferrette, in the Haut-Rhin, this Wednesday, October 20 to inaugurate the new Re-Birth museum space installed on the ground floor of the town hall. He took the opportunity to visit the Romanesque church of Feldbach, a small neighboring town.
Corinne Rabault, the mayor of Ferrette, commune of Sundgau in the Haut-Rhin, received his Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, this Wednesday, October 20. An exceptional event but not unprecedented since it had already come to the City of the Counts in 2006,
“To receive a prince is to receive a head of state. This requires preparation which is not usual for the role of mayor of a small town. He had already come, he is happy to come back», Declared Corinne Rabault at the microphone of France 3 Alsace.
It should be remembered that Albert II, 14e and current sovereign prince of Monaco, also carries the title, among others, of count of Ferrette. The unwavering bond between Ferrette and Monaco began in 1777 when Prince Honoré IV of Monaco married Louise d’Aumont, heiress to Mazarin and owner of the Ferrette estate.
Prince Albert of Monaco inaugurated the brand new Re-Birth museum space located on the ground floor of the town hall.
“He likes this museum space, he partially financed it, he wanted to see what it wants. This space is a great asset for Ferrette, he is well aware of it. His presence will bring a little publicity around Ferrette and this space», Rejoices the mayor of Ferrette.
His journey continued in Feldbach, a neighboring town of Ferrette, where he visited the Romanesque church dating from the 12the century and for which it will finance restoration work to the tune of 5,000 euros.
