There will be a Pet Shop Boys concert in Budapest again
Next year, the Pet Shop Boys will perform in Hungary again. The British pop band will perform in Budapest Park on July 6, 2022.
Singer Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe’s musical duo will arrive in the Hungarian capital as part of their tour Dreamworld – The Greatest Hits Live. A series of concerts previously postponed due to the pandemic will start in Milan next May, organizers told MTI on Tuesday.
Pet Shop Boys is performing in Hungary for the eighth time. They first played in the Budapest Sports Hall in 1991, in 2000 in the Budapest Contact Concert at Felvonulási tér, in 2004 at the Sziget Festival, in 2006 at the VOLT Festival in Sopron, in 2010 at the Balaton Sound in Zamárdi, in 2014 at the Budapest In the park, and most recently in 2018 at SZIN. The band last gave a concert in September 2019 in London.
The band, which has existed since 1981, has sold more than 50 million albums so far, winning the British Awards three times for a six-wheeled Grammy, having 42 Top 30 singles, 22 of which topped the UK top ten and four finishing first: the West End Girls, It’s a Sin, Always on My Mind and Heart. Other huge hits include Go West, Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money) or What Have I Done to Deserve This ?.
The Pet Shop Boys have made fourteen studio albums so far, the most recent, Hotspot, coming out last year.
