The number of passengers at Prague Airport is still well ahead of the covid, the jumper of the month was Tel Aviv
The number of passengers at Prague Airport rose by 63% year-on-year to 654,000 in September. However, traffic is still well below pre-pandemic levels.
This follows from regularly published statistics on Prague Airport website. September was the second strongest month of this year in terms of passenger numbers. For the whole year, Prague Airport handled 3.38 million passengers, a fifth less than last year for the same period. In 2020, traffic was almost normal in January and fatigue, which is why this year’s full-year figures have so far shown a decline. For comparison: in September 2019, the airport handled 1,848 million passengers.
After the end of the main summer season, the list of airports where most people fly from or to Prague also changes. Amsterdam was in first place, and Tel Aviv is in second place for the first time in history. This is linked to the relaxation of restrictions, especially for Israeli citizens.
The management of Prague Airport expects that the number of passengers could exceed four million this year.
