Russia and Belarus have prepared a new Military Doctrine of the Union State, it was approved in the near future, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. This will be a response to military threats, as well as economic and political pressure from the collective West, the minister explained.
“In addition to a military threat, we continue to face political and economic pressure on our countries from the so-called collective West,” Shoigu said during the joint work of the collegium of the Russian and Belarusian defense ministries.
According to him, in the current conditions, they are forced to take retaliatory measures.
“The Military Doctrine of the Union State has been prepared, which will be approved in the near future at the next Supreme State Council of the Union State,” he agreed.
The Minister recalled that the ministries are planning to cooperate on the basis of a strategic partnership program.
“In September, a joint strategic exercise Zapad-2021 was held. We will work out actions within the framework of the CSTO. Currently, a training exercise is underway in Tajikistan with the collective rapid response forces of the “Interaction-2021” organization. In September, Belarusian servicemen for the first time took part in the anti-terrorist exercise of the SCO member states “Peace Mission – 2021” quotes Shoigu RIA Novosti.
