Prague has announced a tender for CZK 972 million for the construction of the Dvorecký Bridge, there will be an elevated cycle belt
“The competition is announced in such a way that we are not only interested in the price, but the evaluation measures are quality, which is measured by the length of the work, the length of the warranty period and, last but not least, the team’s qualifications.” said the deputy. He added that the city would like to select a supplier by the end of the year.
The eastern exit of the bridge will be at Žluté lázně north of Jeremenkova Street, the western one will lead near the Lihovar tram stop. The Tubes and Atelier6 studios are in charge of the construction project based on the results of architectural competitions. The price of the project was set in the competition for 132.7 million crowns. According to the city management, the proposal with cubist elements will bring improved transport, especially public transport, where some lines do not have to run through Podskalí and over the Palacký Bridge. The space under the bridge must be used for leisure activities and a cafe. Part of the project is the design of a new tram stop Dvorecký most.
So far, the last Prague bridge over the Vltava, the Troja Bridge, was put into operation in October 2014. It replaced the Troja Tram Bridge from 1981, nicknamed the “Ramusák”, which ended on October 7, 2013. Last year, the city opened a new footbridge over the Vltava , which collapsed in 2017. The municipality also recently selected the Skanska company in a tender, which will build a footbridge between Holešovice and Karlín across the island of Štvanice. Karlín and Holešovice should be connected in the following by the new Rohan Bridge, the city has not yet decided on its construction. The individual bridges over the Vltava are in poor condition and the city is gradually repairing them, currently Barrandovsky, for example.
