Prague Airport has supported the Nelež association and wants to cut off disinformation websites
“We are actively addressing the issue of misinformation and manipulative messages at the airport. For example, as part of media monitoring, which we share with all employees on the company’s intranet, we have created a special media category. This includes news from sites with potentially misleading content. The aim is to draw the attention of those who are not so well versed in the media world about the potential manipulativeness of such content, “says Eva Krejčí, Director of Communications at Prague Airport.
The founders of the association state that, according to research by the Independent Journalism Fund, almost 60 percent of people have no idea that they draw information from disinformation websites. The total traffic of these websites is around 12 percent of the population, which is based on 800,000 people across the entire social spectrum.
Prague Airport reports on the Nelež initiative as a responsible contracting authority. “We will also invite business partners, especially airlines, to get involved. As part of the joint marketing campaigns of carriers financed from the so-called incentive programs provided to our company, the Prague Airport logo also appears in particular. Therefore, we will also include in the conditions for drawing these funds for 2022 a point concerning the recommendation not to advertise on manipulative websites determined by the methodology developed by the Nelež Association, “added Jakub Puchalský, a member of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

The Nelež Association strives not to advertise on disinformation websites to become an ethical standard for business owners, company directors, brand managers, employees in advertising, media and PR agencies, “concluded Ivan Manolov from the Nelež Association.
The Nelež Association was founded in 2020 by employees in the advertising business who are fighting against misinformation. The association addresses companies, organizations or associations that need not to advertise on disinformation websites.
