Attendance at the restaurant has dropped, with Prague being the worst off
However, because they go to gastronomic establishments less often, the average sales per business is only about 3.6 percent. The company Storyous, which supplies technology and cash register systems to the restaurant, told ČTK today. It processes 18 percent of turnover in Czech gastronomy.
The largest drop in attendance was recorded in the period from July to September in Prague, which still lacks tourists, especially foreign ones. Compared to 2019, the Vysočina region also recorded a similar decrease in guests in the summer; in the Pardubice Region, the number of visitors decreased by 12 percent. Gastronomic enterprises in the Olomouc Region, on the other hand, have 14 percent higher attendance compared to the previous year, while the South Moravian Region improved by about 11 percent. I recommend Storyous tourism in selected localities of these regions as the most probable cause of this request and the fact that many Czechs have gone on holiday abroad in the Czech Republic in the last two years.
Revenues in the hospitality industry increased by 73 percent quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter. Compared to the first quarter of this year, when companies could only have dispensing windows open, sales were almost four times higher. Compared to last year, they increased by 23 percent.
With the onset of autumn, according to Storyous, however, the number of visitors in the following decreases. In addition, businesses will have to cover up further prices. As a result of rising food or supplier prices, their costs are rising. In addition, due to the lack of people, restaurants often have to limit opening hours or reduce menus.
“The key now is to avoid further deadlines as the number of infected people grows. Based on our experience in Spain, where we also operate, we know that restaurants can function fully during coronavirus compliance with security measures. Autumn will be for a number of key companies, “said Igor Třeslín, CEO of Storyous.”
Only guests who have completed coronavirus vaccination, covid-19 in the last 190 days, or have tested negative may sit in the catering facilities. Friends are responsible for keeping this obligation. Today, the Ministry of Health wants to propose to the government that personal enterprises have to control infectivity upon entry. In each of them, they must be seated so that they are spaced 1.5 meters apart, and a maximum of six people can sit at a table.
