An infectious disease specialist spoke about the impact of non-working days on the spread of the “delta”: Society: Russia: Lenta.ru
Infectious disease doctor, doctor of medical sciences Nikolai Malyshev spoke about the impact of non-working programs on the spread of the “delta” strain of coronavirus on the air “Antikovid” on the radio “TVNZ”…
“Termination of close ties within the teams, at least for some period of time, is a blessing,” the expert said. He recalled that the “delta” incubation period has become slightly shorter, but in some people it may last longer. “Therefore, we must proceed from the fact that one way or another two weeks are required,” he said.
Malyshev allows that in order to significantly slow down the outbreak of infection, it is necessary to break all contacts for two incubation periods, that is, for 28 days. For economic reasons, Russia will not agree to such restrictions today. “But this does not mean that the 9-day“ vacation ”will be useless from an anti-epidemic point of view,” he concluded.
Earlier on October 20, at a meeting with members of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, due to the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection, declared non-working days in the country from October 30 to November 7. The head of state also instructed the heads of the regions where the high incidence of COVID-19 is recorded to assess the situation and non-working days a week earlier – starting from October 23rd.
