″ Everis NTT Data Portugal will hire 500 people, mostly outside Greater Lisbon ″
The 1400 people who already work at Everis will be joined by another 500 by 2022. The technology is integrated into the sixth largest information technology services company in the world, the NTT Data Group, and today assumes the name of NTT Data Portugal . It was acquired by the Japanese multinational NTT seven years ago and is in the growth and contracting phase. Tiago Barroso has been the company’s general director in Portugal since March 2020. He led the operation in the midst of a pandemic and is now preparing the next phase: the company plans to “double the operation from 3 billion euros to 6 million euros in the region where Portugal is included (markets in Europe and Latin America), “advances in an interview to DN.
One of Everis NTT Portugal’s bets is an investment in 15 centers of specialized knowledge. What are these poles and what exactly are they for?
We are in a phase of change, so we are going to stop being Everis and become NTT Data for good. We are already NTT Data since 2014, but now there is a bigger step of rebranding and integration. There is a company-wide development plan at the global level and therefore we are currently defining our role in that 2022-25 global investment plan. And we want to play a very interventional role in the group. Larger than the scale of the country will be and, therefore, the only way we understand to play this role is to capitalize on what we call centers of excellence. Small groups of people who are highly specialized in technological domains or who combine technological knowledge with sectorial knowledge and who provide not only excellent services within our organization in Portugal, but also for the group. From the point of view of the reality that brought us the pandemic, with the new work models, we believe in the hybrid model, which combines the remote with the face-to-face and this also opens new doors.
