Why the T1 tram line will be stopped from Monday
From Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 October and from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 November, the T1 tram line will be interrupted in its entirety due to the work carried out around the Odyssud station. This work to divert rainwater and wastewater networks, carried out by Toulouse Métropole, is preparatory work for the creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud. Diversion routes will be put in place during the work. The direction of traffic on rue des peupliers will be reversed to facilitate traffic in the area.
Work during the All Saints holidays
The interventions were organized to minimize the impact of users of the tram line, namely during school holidays, the least penalizing period because the least frequented. Also note that no MEETT event is planned for this period.
A substitute bus will be put in place to allow travelers to travel along the T1 tram line between the Ancely and MEETT stops. The frequency of the T2 tram line will be increased between the Palais de Justice and Toulouse Blagnac airport.
Prepare the future cadenced tram line to the airport
“The creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud will make it possible to increase the frequency with which the tram runs to Blagnac and the airport area, ie 4:30 minutes in rush hour instead of 9 minutes currently. This increase in frequency responds to a growing demand for travel and ultimately improves the frequency of travel for our travelers ” explains Jean-Michel Lattes, president of Tisséo.
This work is part of the planned arrangements between the future Blagnac – Jean Maga metro station and Toulouse Blagnac airport for the creation of the Airport Express Line (LAE).
This “high frequency” line will make it possible to reach the airport in 7 minutes (between Jean Maga and Blagnac) and will run on the rails of the existing T2 tram. It will provide a connection to the 3rd metro line and to the T1 tram at the new “Jean Maga” station. The Jean Maga sector will constitute a major hub for exchanges with the construction of a metro station as part of the 3rd line project, the creation of two tram stations and a terminus for two bus lines connecting the west Toulouse.

These achievements will be accompanied by the modification of the Toulouse Blagnac Airport terminus, and work on the T1 tram line: increase in the capacity of trainsets increased to 38 trainsets of 32m compared to 26 today. The next stage of the project will be the creation of a train turning lane between February and November 2022.
