VIDEO. Toulouse: the electric bike tested for a month for CGI employees
This provision, in a company based in Basso Cambo, aims to make employers and employees aware of the value of the electric bicycle and to promote its development in Toulouse.
After the Caf de Haute-Garonne in early October, it’s the turn of CGI, a digital company Installed in Basso Cambo, to lend 20 of its employees electric bicycles, for a month, through the bonWatt and in partnership with the bike house, In Toulouse. Nearly 50 employees applied. Priority has been given to those who drive the 5 to 10 km that separate their home from their work.
For the company, this is one more step in their sustainable development plan: “We already have several initiatives underway: the reimbursement of Tisséo costs, electric cars and outlets available in the car park,” explains Sylvain Ladurée, the director. No one wants to spend an hour in traffic anymore. Our desire is to meet a need of our employees, and it coincides with our CSR policy (corporate social responsibility). “
20 CGI employees will test the electric bike for a month on the way home to work.
Louna, an employee, is one of the twenty elected, and she is “super happy” to be able to take charge of this bike. “I come by car every morning for convenience, while I live in the center of Toulouse. I wanted to try, I didn’t know how. It’s practical, they came to our premises to offer their solutions. “
The GoodWatt system is co-financed by energy saving certificates (EEC) up to 85%, which represents a remainder payable by the employer of € 3,500 excluding tax for 20 bikes. “At the end of the month of testing, we offer an assessment for employers, who will then decide on the orientation of their mobility strategy, for example by purchasing a fleet of bicycles,” says Claire Chocteau, in charge of South West project at GoodWatt.
