Toulouse: no tram on line T1 from Monday, we explain why
From Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 October and from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 November, the T1 tram line will be interrupted in its entirety due to the work carried out around the Odyssud station in Blagnac.
From Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 October and from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 November, the T1 tram line which connects the Palais de Justice in Toulouse to the Meett in Aussonne will be interrupted in its entirety due to the work carried out around the Odyssud station. This work to divert rainwater and wastewater networks, carried out by Toulouse Métropole, is preparatory work for the creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud. Diversion routes will be put in place during the work.
The direction of traffic on rue des Peupliers will be reversed to facilitate traffic in the area. “The interventions were organized to minimize the impact of users of the tram line, namely during school holidays, the least penalizing period because the least frequented” specifies Tisséo. Also note that no Meeting event is planned for this period. A replacement bus will be put in place to allow travelers to travel along the T1 tram line between the Ancely and Meett stops. The frequency of the T2 tram line will be increased between the Palais de Justice and Toulouse Blagnac airport.
Why a partial terminus at Odyssud
“The creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud will make it possible to increase the frequency with which the tram runs to Blagnac and the airport area, ie 4.30m during rush hour instead of 9 minutes currently. This increase in frequency responds to a growing demand for travel and improved travel conditions for our travelers, ”explains Jean-Michel Lattes, President of Tisséo Collectivités and Tisséo Ingénierie. Objective: better serve the airport area and Blagnac This work is part of the planned arrangements between the future Blagnac – Jean Maga metro station and Toulouse Blagnac airport for the creation of the Airport Express Line (LAE) .

This “high frequency” line will make it possible to reach the airport in 7 minutes (between Jean Maga and Blagnac) and will run on the rails of the existing T2 tram. It will provide a connection to the 3rd metro line and to the T1 tram at the new “Jean Maga” station. The Jean Maga sector will constitute a major hub for exchanges with the construction of a metro station as part of the 3rd line project, the creation of two tram stations and a terminus for two bus lines connecting the west Toulouse.
The creation of a return route for trainsets between February and November 2022 will be the next stage of the project.
